Racial microaggressions

Racial microaggressions are brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioural, or environmental indignities, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and insults towards ethnic minorities.

The culmination of these microaggressions can adversely impact mental health by increasing the sense of alienation, leading to withdrawal and even contributing to depression. Sometimes it’s the ‘thousand little cuts’ that hurt our mental health the most.
